Welcome podcast fans. It's time for the What's Up Bro Podcast Show, presented by Jay and J Production Studios, the home for all your entertainment needs, all kinds of great topics discussed every week, a variety of different themes offered, special guest appearances, prize giveaways, and so much more. Stay tuned and now here your hosts, Sam Crow and Big Hoss. Well, good evening, everybody, Hello, and welcome to a brand new episode of the show.

So excited to be here with you guys. Of course, as always you know me, it's Sam Crow here, Big Hoss and not joining us tonight is not feeling the best, but he'll be back soon. But we do have a very special guest joining us here in studio tonight. If you guys weren't following us on social media, shame on you, because we did advertise it well enough.

I know a bunch of people did see it. But if you'd missed it, then this is kind of a fun little intro here, which I do have more sound effects going up there, which we're gonna do because we don't have our live studio audience, but we have our animatronics studio audience. If you will but joining us tonight and hopefully introducing to some potentially new fans for her is voice actor and front own Mickey from the punk rock band Mickey and the Doom. Let's give her a round of applause, standing ovation every Morney.

Hi, Hello, Nicky. How are you. I'm doing great? How are you very well?

Thank you? Thank you so much for taking the time to come and chat with us. It's really a lot of fun to have you here. We've become quite a bit of fans quite recently, been following a lot of your work and from not just the music, but the voiceovers that you have done, which I've heard some of the snippets from different things, from your personal page to the band's page.

I will say right off the bat, my personal favorite is and I like this song. I'm not a huge fan, but I do like the song. It's the Joe Lene song with my lead or Dolly partner. So I really like the split.

How you did the and that had to be fun, obviously, I know it's a lot to try to get both tracks to do both vocals, but it really sounds fantastic. So that was a lot of fun to hear. Hopefully it was a lot of fun for you to do too. Yeah, thank you.

I'm very flattered to be here, so thank you for reaching out, you know, as this is my first time doing like being a guest on anything, so well. We're truly honored to have you here and we hope you'll like it enough to want to come back up here a Lootically, we'd love to hear updates and how We obviously are following everything with the Dan too, so we kind of know too. But it's always nice to talk to the talent itself and to be able to get some insights on some things. Now, speaking of that, and I know by the time this episode is airing, if you guys didn't notice, it was pre recorded, but this is available starting August seventeenth, which is Saturday night, which I believe you guys will be performing at.

Remind us. Remind us again, I forget I saw the tunnels. Yes, of Austin. Very nice, Very you've been.

We've been pretty active lately. I've seen a lot of the Have you had a lot of good turnout from the shows that you've done so far? Actually, yeah, we have. I've been really pleasantly surprised the the impressions and the kind of the social media front.

Like I've decided just to really have fun with it and and you know, have it be a little bit just another just another creative outlet. Anyway, the ads have been working. I've been I've been like doing these impressions and people have Yeah, they've. Come out, so they they're they're really good, especially and I only know because I got to I got to know the song Garbage USA, so I forget out the lyrics there.

But uh, your most one of your more recent posts. And I do like her because I've seen the movie. But doing the Jodie Foster doing the whole I thought that was really funny and unique there because it's very spot on, Like if I close my eyes, I would swear it was actually her doing it, because it's just it's really it's really neat. And that's actually where we're gonna start.

I want to start. We're gonna we want to know all about Mickey and try to find out what makes you tick all that sort of kind of stuff, and that's actually what we do. Well. First of all, I will say, since Mickey was nice enough to be here and we're nice to kind of collaborate a little bit.

We will definitely be promoting you guys in the band page and any chance we get, as long as you're okay with that, of course, we don't want to. No appreciate it, please. Absolutely no, we appreciate that too. Again, any shoutouts back, we would love that as well.

But yeah, so let's how we do this, And I didn't. I did not preface for you guys listening to Mickey beforehand. I usually do this in my apologies, but I figure we could do this as we go when ever, whoever's new to the show. When we have new people here, we always start by asking said person or persons to tell us a little bit about themselves.

Uh, it's fully up to you as much as personal detail as you want to go, just things we always tell people that you think is relevant for people to know about you, not necessarily always professionally, but personally. If you want whatever you feel comfortable to share, you welcome to. We're gonna jump into the personal of the professional stuff obviously, but if it intermixes, that's fine. But anything that we asked the question who is Mickey clearly practice before we have fun.

Micky's having fun. I'm just having fun. Do my thing. I think that's what I'm doing.

Let me try let's try this too, let me ask a couple. And again you're not obligated to answer, of course. So you are located in Texas? Is that correct?

I am? Did you grow up in Texas? No? I did not.

I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Really what prompted the move, if I may ask, if you were willing to answer that. Yeah, well, I grew up like the younger years, was in like Virginia, and then we moved to Florida, and then Florida. I went back up to the DC area for college and that's where I met my husband and and we then moved from d C to Seattle, to Seattle to LA and then La to Texas.

My word, you've you've seen across the country. I guess that's fair enough for at least good parts of the country anyway. Yeah, yeah, it's been a good time. We uh, we were settling like Texas is where it's at.

We love Austin. So it's a fallback for me especially, I said one day, if if the way things going, the way the world is going, Texas is my is my safety net area of uh, of the Free and Independent State wheeling there because you know, I'd make the joke where Texas State legislature always talks about seceding from the Union again, and so if the country goes the way it goes and things should fall apart. I always tell everybody I'm my backup plan, my retirement plan, if you will, is to move to Texas, because it seems where everybody's at so and with a plan, I try, you know, I try. You kind of have to.

I don't like to. I like to live the artistic style of going with the flow, but sometimes you kind of have to have some ideas, you know, and so. What other ideas do you have? Like what what?

What other prep is? What? What? What's what's your doomsday prep?

You know, honestly, I would say I have the bunker in the basement for that. I don't have that. Do you ever? Would you ever have a bunker basement?

I? I don't know. The problem of it is is there's so many different doomsday theories of what could potentially finish us that is there really a safe place kind of comes down to the optimate ultimate question, So, you know, and same thing like the zombie apocalypse, which I heard, and this is funny, and I remember reading this several years ago, and I'm not sure how true it is now, but the state of Florida actually has a zombie preparedness plan for the governor that's there. Well, there were zombies in Florida, so it makes sense that they would have a prepared.

I didn't know that. So that's news. I never see the things they don't tell you. I mean again, the media is.

So no, it was. It was a big deal. There was a people doing like there's a video of a guy like on bath salts or something like really eight someone's face, so that there are so it makes it was like a big like the these drugs are turning you into zombies. Like, so, I Florida should be prepared if there were to be a zombie outbreak.

My money's on Florida. And I can say that because I grew up there. Well, here's here's my question. Then, since you did grow up there, what I don't get is they can prepare it.

I'm sure well prepared for a zombie apocalyst, but it's always every year for hurricane season. Doesn't seem like there's a at least other than to evacuate, which obviously is a natural form of getting getting the heck out of there when you know, obviously a hurricane whoever year comes through town. But it just seems like there could be more there. I don't know if it's if it's the level of importance.

I mean, I don't know how often zombie outbreaks happened there compared to hurricanes. Hurricanes seem to be at least once a year. But maybe it's a budget thing. I don't know.

I don't know. I really got to prepare for. Is the zombies from the hurricanes interesting? So it's almost like a Sharknado kind of thing you're getting at there where it just kind of brings them all in and drop interesting.

That's a see conspiracy theories. I didn't know we were going to go this route. So you guys get a bonus because Mickey's got some insights that even I didn't know about it. Now I got to do my own homework because I had no clue.

This is all new to me. That's what that's what everyone's really here for. I was gonna say, yeah, it's not it's not so it's nothing. So much you or the doomsday preparation, that's all.

Yeah, yep, forget forget the music, forget the whole you know, we need to get to the other stuff. But let's we'll just talk about trying to fix the world in the one show, all the roots all. Uh, the real the real objective is to sell zombie preparedness kids. Yeah, That's that's what it boils down to, because I think at the end of the day, it's not gonna that or it could be.

It could be I am robot type with the AI thing. That's the other possibility to a robots will take over. So there's one of two theories there. It depends on which side of the fence you land.

Uh robots. I think robots won't take over in Florida. I think interesting robots were to take over, you know. I think everyone thinks like Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley, Silicon Silicon Valley.

Wherever you're from. Yeah, Tomato tomorrow, however you want to pick it. Yah, I feel like Indiana. It's a good place, interesting choice, I will say.

I do like the way here my works. Start, you know, you know where they'll start. They'll start where we're most vulnerable our food system. Yeah, there you go, it will be uh.

The robots, the tractors will come alive. Oh yeah, yeah, well you know what, it's kind of like that horse that gets over scary. That would be scary if if it was just like Bob the Builder style like equipment. Yeah, like, could you imagine the beginning.

Of uh of the I robot Apocalypse? Imagine my my biggest nightmare I wake up in cold sweat? Is that demonic harvester that you know, you see like the old horror movies where somebody gets caught up in the and they just yeah, cut you right in half of what was the movie The Crazies? Yeah, that was It was a yeah, something like that.

I haven't seen that, but I was just thinking of a wood chipper, but same effect. That would be a good horror film. So much to make that. You're welcome.

You really haven't seen The Crazies. Are you familiar? You're not even familiar to the concept. I don't want to spoil it for you.

If you ever want it's an older film. I really want to see someone make like a low budget horror film over about tractor equipment that becomes sentient and harvests the people. That's very close, I will say the crazy Well, here's a spoiler for you, Like, there is one scene and basically the whole premises it's like the zombie effect. But people there's a government plane that gets in the lake nearby.

I think it's in Indiana somewhere ironic. But see see there you go and. People start talking to they start drinking the water and they don't realize it's polluted, and they start getting they become zombified, they lose their mind. Well, anyway, the scene is this family of farmers which the farmer gets ill living with his wife and their son.

Doesn't cut them up with the harvester, although spoiler alert, he does lock them in the closet and sets the house on fire after setting it dumping gasoline through the house, so it does burn them to a crisp, but doesn't remember doing it. But you're very close. But I would say taking that theory and expanding with the farm equipment would just make that ten times more horrific and scary. Like I wouldn't sleep for a.

Month, so not a whole month, yeah from me, if I. Watch it in the dark, especially, I mean I like horror films, but sometimes like. But get farm equipment involved, and it's fucking game over. I tell you what I couldn't.

I like video games and I played Silent Hill, but when I saw the film, I had to sleep with the lights on for a little bit, just because I'm a little chicken. Shit. I played like the Slenderman game ground Yeah h still h oh, I lose my shit, I can I was. I got into Fortnite like I couldn't like when they came out with like the og like season.

Again. Recently, I got back into it and was playing it obsessively, and then I could not sleep because I had so much fucking adrenaline at one am. Yeah, it was given me tremendous anxieties, so I stopped. You know, I will say this.

It's nice and you may or may not be as old as I am, but when you get older that that kind of goes away. I'm getting old to the point now where I my uh my stamina level doesn't let me pass nine o'clock anymore. So typically if I sit down, I'm usually out cold. I'm doing the old people kind of thing now, which is kind of sad, but uh, you know, I don't have my stamina where I could be up till three or four in the morning, and well.

You got to regulate your hormones. You know, sleep is important. Oh I do. I get probably more than an average person.

But I mean it's it's just. Like these days. That's why. That's why I stopped playing video games, because the court is all because I was fighting and flighting every night playing playing Fortnite.

I heard it can't be addicting that so I understand I I was. I was getting actually like I was the best worst player you've ever seen. So like I get a lot of I get a lot of kill, but like, uh it was boofy, Like okay, not a lot. I would play unranked so and I'm just doing it for but like I'd play very loud, so like I'd like to drive cars and like and like i'd bum rush people.

And I was so like I'm not good enough, so bad that I was unpredictably good, like they weren't expecting me to be because I just like take shotguns and I like the the auto shotties. Uh, and I just like jump around and be very like sporadic and most people like the aar like you know, the kind of the gradual attack, just kind of and I really liked hitting people with cars cars and if you drive around and you honk and like you run into ship and stuff like that. People they they I don't know what they expect, but they rarely expect me. And then I I'm not half bad shot.

I like I got like there was one time I got I swear to God, and I have video proof. I got fourteen kills. I got fourteen kills. That's not bad.

Yeah, it's not, you know, I mean like in one in the same game. Yeah, anyway, but I can't anymore because I dare not sleep. Yeah. Yeah, I gotta say though, I really like and I'm getting to know more about either that You've got that that fun, dark humor side to it, which is kind of It's always nice to be people like that because it keeps life interesting for starters, and I love You're very proud of that.

Like I I a lot of gamer, especially gaming world today, people get upset by the dumbest things. So now there are people that obviously ruin it. That you know, obviously, if you're not going to play the game fairly or rightly, you shouldn't play. But uh, there are a few that have that that are a lot of fun.

But it's just, uh, you have a very free spirited style of you on that which is always nice. Yeah, and you learn something new every day. So I do want to I do want to ask. I'm sorry, go ahead, did you Oh?

I just said I I did have a lot of fun that's really gaming. But yeah, So here I have a here's my first burning question. I want to talk about the first part of you, of the makeup of who Mickey is. So the voice actor for that one, and obviously you do more than according to what I've seen there, you do more than just the acting part.

You produce, you direct, You do pretty much everything you could want to do on both sides of the camera, obviously both sides of the mic. How did you how did you land there? Was that something you were looking to do? Did you fall into it?

Like? What was the how does one get into the voice acting realm? Because you're all kind of stories you want, like the long story because it's like because it kind of just like, I don't know, I jumped around a lot to get to this point. So it wasn't it wasn't necessarily that you were shooting for this, and that's.

I always knew that. I. So I got a degree in music, you know, and then I started working at a recording studio and wasn't like like enjoyed it. But becoming an engineer wasn't really for me.

And I don't know if that like I just didn't feel it's an intimidating space and I anyway, I H yeah, so it wasn't It didn't really feel the right fit for me. Like coach tennis for a long time. And then uh, and then while I was coaching, I wrote a song called my Cunt Retizz and it's a it's like a political song. Uh uh, it's uh essentially just like an oh to reproductive rights, and and just made it really funny and like yeah uh and I basically kind of thing you kind of almost yeah yeah yeah.

But I decided I want to wanted to try it out at a comedy open mic, uh saying the song. It did really really well. The manager said, hey, do you have five minutes? And I was like, sure, uh, come back tomorrow night and do five minutes.

And I like sprinted and like wrote a quick set and did the five minutes and then they liked it, and then uh, this is really the long hand story. Anyway, I was like I got into comedy by accident, and then like just kept writing longer and longer sets. Uh, and then moved to the pandemic. I got I applied to like a bunch of festivals, and I got into like several of them, and I got to one of them like Sandy Comedy Festival.

Yeah yeah, okay uh. And then like I started getting into TikTok a lot, and like my TikTok's were blowing. This is really the long the long winter. The more we learn about you, the better.

So go ahead, this is the last time I'm gonna interrupt myself, and like, notice that I'm taking every twist and turn on how how did I get into voice acting? I could answer in five seconds, but I'm gonna start at the very beginning. I prefer the long answer. I like, I like a good book story.

So I go, this is the last This is the last time I interrupted myself. And then I'm just gonna follow every twist and turn and whatever. But so so I was doing comedy, uh it all of a sudden stop with the pandemic. I got to do the San Diego Comedy Festival, and I got to the Stemmi Finals, but all the other ones got canceled.

So I started getting into TikTok and and started making my little music like comedy videos, and like they were, they would pop off, like I would do like these movie parodies and like this right, like a short little jingle with a song from the movie. And anyway, like you're literally like the female weird al is what you're describing to me? Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. And so I was like, all right, comedy it is, Let's move to l A.

Yeah. My husband his job went fully remote. She's like, yeah, dude, let's fucking do it. And so we moved to la and I started working for this wonderful comedy talent manager named Barry Katz and actually actually like was a producer on his podcast Okay Industry Standard.

And then after like you know, I really enjoyed my time there, but like I didn't you know, it was time to to try something new and and uh got into animation, working at this company called Babo and Animation, which I still do a lot of work for now, and started as a producer. Quickly proved myself to be a very capable editor and kind of jack of all trades. That like I could, Like, I started off as a coordinator, and then we needed editing help urgently, so I just stepped up and then we needed you know, as you keep proving yourself, you get cooler and cooler opportunities, and then I you. Wear a lot more hats.

Yeah pretty much. Yeah yeah, and so I so there was some need for some voice acting help, and so I just did it and found I had a knack for it. I mean I always was super curious about it, but uh, you know, presented with the opportunity, I just really fell in love. And and yeah, as you keep working, you get more responsibilities.

So essentially got to the point where I was completely managing shows and running them, directing them and so as a one one woman, one woman's Swiss Army as just because why would you pay three people a job that one person can do? And then yeah, so you know, worked with a really good friend of mine who was pretty much like the same in that way that like could just manage, direct and do everything on the back end. I'm going down a tangent with this, but yeah, anyway, I started an animation as a as a producer and then yeah, now it's I don't really do much production work. I'm really just talent.

Okay. So anyway, it started joined as producer, became a hybrid, and now I'm just getting more and more voice acting work. You really seem to enjoy. I'm trying to think how I want to use a unique term for that.

You really seem to enjoy dipping your toe and a multitude of different ponds. I guess as it were to try. And it's unique too because you're you're trying to recognize your potential and what you can do, and you're you're challenging yourself to see, you know, what am I good at? What am I maybe not my forte?

What can I What more can I try to do? What can I find? You know? Kind of have that.

I just like to follow the fun. I don't really think too hard about it. I just like, if there's a cool opportunity and I think I'd have fun, then I do it. I thought i'd have fun making kids shows, so I did it, like getting involved in like animation and adult animation and just voiceover in general.

I didn't like. I don't have like a grand agenda. I just want to work on cool. Ship and that works.

I mean honestly for me, there's an old saying too, I've heard it where sometimes the best plan is no plan, which always makes me think about and technically, I know there's a, there's a there's a there's a reason for it, but I always think of the line from the Dark Knight film where Heath Ledger's character as the Joker says, you know, do I really look a guy who has plans? You know? Which technically he does, But the idea is like you're trying to live somewhat of a constructive order of chaos where you don't overthink things. You just things happen and you just you kind of go with the flow essentially.

I definitely I wouldn't say go with the flow, Like I'm definitely a very ambitious person in that Like, yeah right, I like I like I have, I love to dream. I love to like imagine myself in different fantastical situations and. Every child's dream. Yeah, I mean, well.

I just even now, like I just I enjoy the day dream. So like, I definitely have goals and stuff, but it doesn't feel as structured as maybe you know, early on in my life, like it feels more like I'm just kind of chasing like I'm just chasing fun. That's awesome, but within. Within like you know, within my passion.

So it's like I'm very I've narrowed down my focus into like two things I'm very passionate about, and that is you know, and and those two things go hand in hand. And there we go. I knew I was opening a signal her there, So hang on a Second'll get Nicky back in just a second. This is really interesting you guys.

I hope you guys are enjoying it. Hang on a second. Uh, definitely. Again, we did not pre script this ahead of time, and it's always fun to learn guests, which we hope we're learning some more information there.

We're gonna we're gonna dive more into Mickey's side of her passion with her voice acting, and we're also gonna find out more about the band of course. I hope you guys will learn something new. And I just want to quote and say this or leave a comment there where I will say I think it's a unique perspective where you have you can have fun with life going through that. There's some things you have to do can do, but it's always a great idea to chase that dream of something you're passionate about.

We talk about that so much on the show, so I really think that it's a wonderful testament there when we hear people say things like that, and we've had other friends say that too, but I think for Micky it's a unique perspective that she brings that We're gonna dive more into that. In just a second, we'll take a quick break so we can get her back in here. Hope you guys are having a great weekend. Hope you've been looking forward to this.

A very special episode we have for you tonight. We are joined by voice actor and frontwoman Niki from the hit punk rock band Nicky and the Doom based out of Texas. We will share some links with you guys, give you some information there as well. We're definitely gonna try to get Nicky to come back.

I believe we will be able to do so. I don't think that will be a problem. We're gonna ask your han in just a second. We just got to get her back into the meeting room and there we go.

Let's see, let's see if this works, because this is something I'm trying very hard to figure out and understand, and it's those little technical things that maybe one day we won't have to worry about quite so much. I want to wait to make sure she gets back in the studio area. Let's see, let's see, let's see if this works, and if not, we'll try again. There's still these little nuances we try to figure out.

There we go. Let's get her microphone back on first, as I lose my screen because I don't want to here she comes. Wait for it. The anticipation is incredible.

Wait for it. It's coming there, and we're getting everything fired up there. Almost. Okay, we got audio, that's the first.

That's a good start. I I got like fifteen twenty minutes tops. That's perfect. That's absolutely fine.

Again, as I said, I told Nicky during the break that we just have to entice you to come back, which we hope you will as long as you didn't hate it too much and we scared you away. But I can tell yeah, no really if anything, So this is actually perfect because we're gonna use the last time to talk about Mickey and the Doom before we do. Though, there's one other question I wanted to ask as far as the voice acting, would there be and again, you don't have to share this, but would there be anything that we would recognize or know you from that you have done that might may be newsworthy? I guess is that the way to put that?

Is that fair? To say? Yeah? I think people with small children definitely might maybe recognize my voice I'm in Yeah, and a lot of shows that that I've been working on the past few years.

Sorry, my stomach, I'm so hungry crowd. I heard nothing, but thank you for the update. That's great. But yeah, there are just a lot of shows that I've been working on the past few years are finally coming out now.

But I think the biggest one to look out for is is the Jungle Book preschool series Wow, and then some newer cartoons that some of which are being shopped around by different networks. Trying to find yep. But so well, actually, I'm I'm pretty sure Katuri is on Peacock but so I played Katuri Moms four and five. It's a really cute show.

And I'm also I'm also in the movie. Definitely check out Dinaster Quantum Heroes again, if you're in, if you're if you have kids between the ages of like I think, oh god, I'm probably misquoting the age, but I think it's like seven to nine or like nine to twelve or something like that. But DYNASTERA Quantum Heroes. It's a sick three.

I'm definitely gonna watch it, and I'm not I might be seven to nine at heart, so that's you know, that counts two and you don't have to be physically that old. But yeah, Dinosaur robot Quantum Physics show. It's like if the Power Rangers, uh fought dinosaurs and robots robot dinosaurs in like a multiverse. Wow, you really have.

That's a that's a that's a project in and of itself. Whoever thought? I never thought about that sooner? But I do the dinosaurs on that one too.

So you might recognize me. You might recognize me from. So nice. You're like the d Bradley Baker of the of the artistic world.

There. That's interesting. Other she is I know you guys can't see her, but we can't. I didn't realize the camera was off.

That's okay. So then what I want to do is, first of all, we will definitely schedule something with you to come back. Of course, if you'd like, we'd love to do that. Obviously.

I know you're very busy, but we will keep in touch as long as you're okay with that. So let's let's finish our time here. I want to ask you about because the big topic is most people should know you from Mickey and the Doom, So obviously, is it's fair to say it's a Is it relatively new you guys started doing that you have? Is it how long where turning?

So? Uh finding all the players? Uh? We so the project first, I put an ad on Craigslist in like February of twenty twenty three, and then Morgan uh found me.

Uh found the ad and like we started, you know, working on some music and he found a bunch of great players that he knows, and uh, you know filled out all the other the other parts of the puzzle. And our first show was like August last year. So really we're turning one as like is a five piece? Yeah, I was just I think I counted you guys there.

If you count, you know, it's interesting because it's I've I've dipped my tone in the pond, if you use that term we talked about before. Was not as successful with that obviously in the location wise, it wasn't super ideal with the band, and of course I had a hard time keeping the guys together because everybody was impatient and wanted to be super famous overnight, which doesn't happen. I had to explain that multiple times. But I really, I really love to see when bands like that, when you are putting yourself out there, which clearly you guys do, and you're seemingly hitting the hitting the ground running because you're obviously gaining traction with notoriety out there.

Again, of course, I'm not sure. I think I followed some of the numbers based on that. It seems fairly fairly high of a good following there, But uh, you in that short amount of time, it's really impressive, and that's a testament to the work you do. And again, you, guys, I've listened to it, and I will honestly say I think I might have said it before the show too.

I think Garbage USA is probably my favorite track that I fersten too. They're all great, same here. That one's my favorite too. I don't know.

I really like especially the bridge part that you do near the end of the song. I think is really neat, like you're just I almost wonder like, I know you gotta take a breath in between it, but you're just like zipping the lyrics out there, which is easily understandable, of course, but I don't know. It's just something about the vibe of that song that And as I said I was upfront too, I said punk has never been my top favorite style of music there. However, in certain cases from listening to certain individuals or groups that do it.

I can't respect the work that's put into it because I've done similar things, not so much the punk here. I've done rock and classic stuff like that. But yeah, it's really it's a unique sound. And even watching the clips of you, guys like you, particularly like I have to say, it's so entertaining watching your stage persona there when you are I almost equate you to the if you're not offended, hopefully not the Steven Tyler method of dancing on the stage or for a front person.

You know, and I love to dance. Dancing feels so good. It's a dance I know, to sing my little heart out. But it's so it's so natural where you have like you can and obviously it shows like you really enjoy doing it.

Of course, you know it's not exactly you're you're letting it really just it's not rehearsed. It's purely naturally nicky. That's just being nicky, and you know you're you're expressing the greatest artistic way possible by letting it naturally flow out. So it's you know, a lot of times you talk about oh yeah, certain groups like the Britney era, oh the lip syncing and it's it's rehearsed, it's choreographed, it's you know, it's not natural.

It's in the studio, they've done it a thousand times. You're just out there like just doing it. Like it's just kind of flowing and this is this is how the night goes, and you're rocking and rolling basically all over. So it's my favorite thing in the world.

So I'm always very happy to do it. It's a lovely release. And it seems like and again not having talked to the others and the guys, it seems like you have you all kind of have a nice good charisma together there, like you meshed well. It's a lot of times it's hard to find people that a lot of bands don't gel all the time.

You know, so well, they're so they make such a beautiful cocoon of sound for me to just play, I just I would love to play with them. We have a great time. It's easy, you know, it feels easy together. Like I feel like five thousand things could go wrong and we maybe they'd notice, but I don't notice.

I'm just having much fun, so much fun. I mean, like, what's the worst thing that could happen. You play some music with your friends and have a great fucking time and like and get to like party with new people like yeah, yeah, I mean so yeah, they're they're amazing. I love them a lot.

So this is this is one other big question I want to ask too, is not to make this too open ended? What is. What is the ceiling for Mickey and the doom? Like what are your I mean, I know you're not a one for plans and stuff, like do you have is there a trajectory of sorts that you're hoping for?

At least? I guess is that a fair. Way to Yeah, I mean, of course you want to Like this makes me feel so good. I think people feel really good when they you know, like when they have fun with us.

And I just want to have fun with as many people as possible. Yeah, And like to me, like, I want to know what it feels like to like just fucking rock with fifty thousand people. I think that would be such a. Such a rush, talk about a rush going for yeah for sure.

Like imagine the energy, yeah, of fifty thousand people. You know, like yeah, like a super performance, Like the electricity in the building. Is just just like everyone everyone there is there to just fucking have fun and play and relax, Yeah, and just enjoy themselves and just be like goofy and free and sweaty and hot. And she's being honest, folks.

I mean that's true, but that happens. So, you know, like, I feel like there's something very special about that kind of connection. I think I agree. I think that would be there's nothing like it in the world.

When you have that kind of feeling, it's so different than anything you could possibly ever imagine. I feel anyway, but I think I'm just hypnotized to buy, you know, by what that would feel like. And I think I'd really like it. So now if I play in front of I want to, Yeah, I want to play.

In front of I will say. I love the fact you really are of that free spirit nature, which is awesome. I think that's you know that, that's incredible. So it's and it's a rare quality.

A lot of people don't have that. And again, I've knew a lot of people that play, and I've seen different artists do things, and there's always a different objective that everybody has. Some people want to get rich and famous. Obviously that's always a forefront for a lot of people.

Some people play because they love doing it, which is I think is the most important. So it's nice to hear that that coming from you there. Now, if if I were to ask, I think we have I'm sure we had all you You're good, go ahead. Oh, I was just gonna say, it's thing like, the bigger the crowd, the bigger the battery.

It's like yeah, and you're like, I could plug my soul into the batteries of fifty thousand people, all charger, all doing the same thing at the same place, listening to the same thing, hopefully singing the same thing, like, oh yeah, that must be just like I want to know what that energy feels like. Now. That's my other question is not to cause controversy naturally, because I would never do that. I'm not the media tabloid for that.

I'm not the media tabloid for that. Would you consider, and I'm not saying it's anything against the band, for that, would you consider solo projects, like if you had your own artistic idea to expand on the the energy excitement, would you consider doing like independently yourself some musical projects if you had the chance aside with the band, of course, not not in lieu of that, replace of that, but like in addition to I. Mean, like, I think it's awesome to collaborate. I love collaborating, and I think, like, you know, it's very common in the like in the music industry that that like I don't know, I'm not really I wouldn't call it like a solo project.

I'd more to say, like I'd love to be featured on other people's stuff or like collaborate, like collaborate for sure. I mean like this is like this is the project to me, you know, this is this is my only project, right, so I don't really like think about it, right, No. And that's fine. And again, like I said, it's you.

That's usually more of a a perspective that different artists have and some do it and some don't, and everybody has a I was always one. I like the band setting well naturally I wasn't I could sing if I would try. But you can have two projects at the same time too, I mean, yeah, it's it's it's like I wouldn't think about it as like would you break off? I think about oh if I like this is very much like a rock project, but if my soul was screaming, uh, it's time to make some d M music, then like that either would be like a feature on something like on like a like an DIUM project, or like I'd start an d M project.

But like you can have like different they're like they're just different projects. It's like you can work on they're tonically different. They're like, you know, it's just to kind of like continue to wet your appetite and have a bigger palette of opportunity to explore more. I guess, and you like that fun.

You'd like to have fun with it. Yeah, exactly, So there's that makes sense. No, I would never I would hope never suggest you want to break things apart. I mean, obviously things happen, and not necessarily on purpose, but you know, I'm not wishing that either.

Of course, I hope things continue, especially since you guys are only a year old too. You know not to but you know, of course the nature of the business too. Some have longevity, like The Stones, who could play forever. And there's some bands that are those one hit wonder types that just for whatever reason just fade off in the distance.

They don't ever seem to progress. So there's just like happy medium. But I hope for you guys, as long as you're having the fun, that you can continue to get on that cruise control cruising down route sixty six kind of thing and just you know, rocking out and jamming out. To your own vibes sixty six.

It's always thing I think about. I don't know why, but I guess that's like the music travel kind of highway. So that's just what I like to think about. But it's definitely I will say, and again, we've just been listening to you guys for a short time, but it's really we congratulate you how far you guys have come in such a short time, just based on the level of, for lack of a better term, the success factor.

I mean, again, everybody has different viewpoints of what success is. But for you guys having fun and having these songs out and having these EPs that you've done and you know, just seemingly like really blowing on the scene, if you will, it's just awesome to see how quickly it can just happen. And we do wish obviously for the best going forward, that we will be watching closely too, naturally, but it's really entertaining for us as the audience watching you guys do that, because it really, like I said, even up to prepping for this, I would have it on listening to the tracks in the background, just because I'm trying to get an understand I've heard the songs multiple times in addition to your solo projects that you like, your little the videos that you've done too, but just to get the full effect of it.

And it really the more I listened to it, it just keeps sucking me back in because thank you every time, Like especially I must have played garbage USA. Let me see, I probably kept hitting the repeat button for that. I think I listened to it at least four times in a row, and every time I restart it, it's like the energy level just kicks it right back on for me, if that makes sense. But uh, thank you.

Yeah, that's it's very dear to me. Yeah, that was the first. I think that was the first demo like instrumental more consent, and it just like I heard the song immediately and the like it turned that the lyrics and the music around and like twenty four hours and. You just seem to so now it just seems like you and the song just naturally like fit together if that, you know, like you're you're like built for that, you know, like it just kind of like it was always meant to be, like it was there because the words and the music it just I don't know, like it's hard to really put into words how to describe it.

But Morgan is very is a very talented you know, artist and musician, and and he like and producer. He was there was just like this frantic yet like calm energy to that, you know, to that instrumental that just like it just spoke to a moment of incredible anxiety about about like just constant awareness about you know, and then the one thing that's supposed to be your release can also be the source of incredibling anxiety. You know, you're like thinking like, Okay, how do I be myself while also you know, having to force yourself into like this social media dread at first, which now I really enjoy I really enjoy posting, I'm really enjoying making content. It feels like it feels like like I'm back in school, where it's like your homework, do your creative homework, Like this is an assignment.

You have to get it done today. You know, I have to get it done by tomorrow, Like tomorrow's when it's due, right, But instead of it being things I'm not passionate about, it's like I get to be creative, I get to find things. But anyway, so it's been on. It's been a journey to find how I can express myself within the means of platforms like Instagram and TikTok where they're heavily censored.

Oh yeah, sadly and to me, you know, like I have, I have content that's flagged and taken down where it has a thing to do with you know, like more liberated outfits, or it's just simply like I had, Like the song my Cunt Retizzy got taken down. It was flagged for nudity, but I was wearing a suit jacket and pants and boots and like I couldn't have had more clothes on. I've heard that, Yeah, I've heard there's I don't know if it's like this weird, Like I see a lot of content creators where they have that same problem, like this is offensive, this is offensive, but this isn't offensive, Like you. Know, like having to you know, having to censor yourself and anxiety over like, how much of what is your main canvas as an artist is social media?

Yeah, that's your day. It's a way that it's one of the most important ways to to reach new audiences and and and connect with more people. But having to do something that doesn't necessarily feel natural. So in wanting to destroy, you know, and especially like you know, the song is inspired by that anxiety in a city like la which is one of my most it's my favorite city in the world.

You know, it's it's incredible and it's filled with the most amazing people, but it's also filled with like literal trash, you know, like it's beautiful. You have these picturesque beaches, but then you have you go like a mile in and it's literal garbage everywhere and not just litter on the ground, but like people. But then at the same time you have you know, some of some of the most incredible you know, it's a city that dreamers are drawn to, you know, wanting to you know, just wanting to make something with your art and make something of yourself and completely changing and evolving and and you know, I so you have, like there's so much hope and love in that city while there's also so much pain and you know, and like I won't even say resentment, but I'd say like just emptiness. It's so full and so empty.

And so I thought, you know, so I thought LA was a really good feeling or like representation of, you know, having to create on social media because it could be so full, like it can it can scratch that creative it you can get that audience response and it can be addicting, you know, but then while also having a while also feeling incredibly empty at the same time, you know, if it's not some you know feeling like just this constant output you have to have, you know, how how creative, you know how hard it can be to maintain that.

So it's just my anxiety and working through my anxiety of a place like LA, right and a place like Instagram are very similar tosations, so sure, and then match that with really energetic and then also very calm moments like like you have you know, the tambourine and like a big wet sound where it's just this is wonderful, life is amazing, like you know, like I feel on top of it, and then just pure fucking like I want to burn the whole fucking city to the ground and like, I fucking hate this and I hate everything and this is soul sucking and but I don't feel like that anymore. With Instagram. I feel like I found a way to like play by the rules. You know, I'll not piss off Mark Zuckerberg.

Who gives a shit about anyway, But still I get your point. Yeah, It's like, I guess, you know, what is the last frontier of you know, self expression on the Internet, And to me right now, it's it's not on the internet, it's in person. So if you're on the fullest, freest, loosest, happiest self, you know, where I feel like I can just paint with my brush and not think about it's just going to get taken down. Is this gonna you know, is this going to.

You don't have to fear about always wanting to color inside the lines. You want to have that ability to say, if I get outside of it, if I spread the canvas, it's not a big deal. So yes, So in essence, like I found a way to, like I found a way to enjoy myself making content which the impressions and like finding finding ways that like, you know, this content entertains me and you know, not really worrying if people like kids, just like, this is what I'm feeling, this is what I. Want, well if it means anything like I said earlier too, And I do mean like I absolutely love and I enjoy watching when you do get new stuff up because it's to see that creative side of it is really and and the constant thing I think about is, you know, you've done so many different voice bits and so many you know, I'm always curious, like what is she going to have out there?

Like what else could you possibly do? And then you have. If you're wondering, Yeah, that's that's what I'm dressed. As I'm dressed, is this is my like nod to Lord.

So I was gonna but that's guys, that's close enough. But Lord and then maybe evanescence, but that's. Not what you were going to say. So that's a stretch there, that's all.

And I do like, I don't know. I'm like, definitely you weren't asking, you didn't ask, you had something else you want to. Say, I'll spill the tea. I mean whatever you I like that, I don't I don't know what you consider to be I don't want to spoil it if you're willing to share, Like, I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I'm like, tell me anything you want to share, what you're gonna do, I'd love to know, because.

You know, oh I will see I was gonna do like nineties pool party. No, no, so it would be like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Yeah, the things that I would here at a middle school pool party. Yeah, it's interesting.

Yeah, yeah, California Girls something. I remember that was a classic when that came out. That was all the rage at that time. When that song was it was playing everywhere.

So that's yeah. Sorry, I kept on going on different tangents, but a right, I. Gotta no, that's fine. I was actually gonna say uh again.
